Cowboy Bill and I just opened a bar in Key West: THE STEEL HORSE SALOON (511 Greene street). I am playing Irish Kevin's this week Monday and Tuesday at 10pm and Thursday at 630pm. Wednesday 5-8pm at THE STEEL HORSE SALOON is my first show ever in my own bar in Key West! Hope to see you all!

Oahu was a blast! one day i rented a harley road king (just like mine back at home). i stopped at LEONARD'S BAKERY for malasadas, rode thru the mountains (rained all day), hiked to a waterfall in the jungle, did my annual "ball testing" 60 ft waterfall jump, then went to BUZZ'S for a steak sandwich and a mai tai.
I sweated the mai tai out on the beach at KAILUA and then rode the long twisty KAMEHAMEHA road to the north shore. I had dinner at CHOLOS and then completed the circuit ending up in WAIKIKI.
i went to a bar (where my infamous mugging attempt story took place- facebook) and hit the sack around 2am.
the surf was great as well. one day i rode a wave that reformed 4 times! it was an amazing ride, but i ended up in the shallows. when the ride ended, my feet got nailed by some sea urchins. normally no big deal. but this happened around sept 14th, and i just had surgery last monday to remove one of them that is thru a nerve and hitting a bone. ouch! but i surfed the storm that caused waves off of key west yesterday. all is well.

i leave in the morning for oahu. i'm playing weds 5-8 at kelley oneils on lewers st. fri and sat at otooles in downtown honolulu. i'll tell you all about it!

i totally forgot to write about my recent trip and performance in french polynesia. i hit tahiti, huahine, bora bora, moorea, fakarava, rangiroa, taha'a, then back to tahiti. it was BEAUTIFUL. jaque coustea's son, jean michel, lead one of our dives. i played a show off the beautiful island of taha'a. all original and the crowd was very friendly. someone in the audience even yelled out, "JMH, Irish Kevins!!" it is a small world we live in. be well and see you down south!

Thanks to all who came out to my shows this past week for BMI Nashville's SONGWRITER'S FESTIVAL 2011. I had a great time and met alot of great people!

I'm back in KEY WEST. What a summer tour. I had a blast playing for all the folks in Thailand (and San Francisco by accident!). Checking out China and Cambodia was a blast too! So thanks for all the positive vibes and people who bought my albums and came out to the shows. You guys were awesome!!!

My buddy and i just got back from the ruins of Angkor Wat in Cambodia. It was crazy! We stayed in Siam Reap, Cambodia and woke up before dawn to catch a ride to the ruins to see sunrise. Then we hiked different temples for 7 hours. It was a great time. Tomb Raider was filmed there and the "King Louie" scenes of THE JUNGLE BOOK cartoon were modeled on it by Disney.

Zub and I accidentally MET THE QUEEN OF THAILAND! I'll tell the whole story later, but it was CRAZY! Not the usual "I'll shake hands as I walk bye" deal. We had a converstaion and joked around with her for quite some time.

We just got back from Patong. What a different town than Kata Beach! It was crazy. Now this ladyboy wants to be paid. I guess I gotta go . . .

I've been having a great time surfing some really good waves and playing at night. If anyone is in the area stop bye my shows over here! Check out the locations/times on my "SHOWS" tab.

What a day! I arrived after 32 hours of SOLID travel. Check out my blog "THOUGHTS."

the new cd is in- obviously. if you already got one, get one for your friends, family, and complete strangers you meet at meth labs- that way i will be able to afford making a new one! the new one is already written. they also make great coasters and frisbees!

I wanted to take a minute to thank the gentlemen of the Special Forces Combat Diver Class 04-10 for their support during their stay in Key West and for the difficult job they do defending our Great Country. You guys are the best! (But what about Special Forces . . . ?)

What a great show at Blarney Island and a great time in the city of Chicago! I wanna send out a huge "THANK YOU" to all the people who drove from places like Kentucky, Missouri, Pennsylvania to see my show- and a couple even flew from KEY WEST of all places. You guys are great.

Today I am just running errands and planning my annual summer tour. This year I am headed to China, Thailand, Cambodia, and most likely, Indonesia. It is one of the highlights of my year and the experiences I gather always give me new material for my music. Thanks to all of you, I am still able to keep my summer job year round and experience the world.
